Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Top Up)

The 2021 Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry refresher course is the official SIA approved security qualification that allows you to renew your SIA licence card. This enables you to work legally as a Door Supervisor or Security Officer anywhere in the United Kingdom. Our experts at Crowd Safety Training are on-hand to give you the additional training you need to continue your career in the private security industry.

WHAT ARE THE CHANGES TO TRAINING NEEDED FOR AN SIA LICENCE?

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has developed top-up training to ensure current Door Supervisor and Security Guarding licence holders possess the same basic skills and knowledge as new entrants who have achieved updated qualifications. From October 2021, all Door Supervisors and Security Guards will be required to complete top-up training prior to renewing their licence.

The new requirements are:

  • New, updated qualifications for all sectors apart from close protection and vehicle immobilisation
  • Learners must have a first aid qualification before taking the training required for a Door Supervisor or Security Guard licence.
  • Applicants must have one of the new qualifications – or have taken top-up training – before they can apply for a door supervisor and security guard licence. This includes renewals.
